Lester Monroe Ledbetter

Mr. Ledbetter was born in Springfield, Conway County, Arkansas, son of Jesse M. and Nettie Leona
(Brannon) Ledbetter. He attended College of the Ozarks at Clarksville, Arkansas, acquired his masters
degree at the University of Arkansas, and he served in the Army during WW II. Mr. Ledbetter married
Gwynneth Louise Mallet in Johnson County, Arkansas, on May 29, 1948. He and Mrs. Ledbetter served
on the Hughes faculty for three years. Mr. Ledbetter eventually became a special agent for the
Federal Bureau of Investigation, during which time he served in California, Oklahoma, and finally with
the Little Rock FBI Division, with an assignment to Fayetteville.  He died March 17, 2005, burial in
Mallettown Cemetery, Mallettown, Conway County, Arkansas.
