| Emogene "Emmy" (Hudspeth) Maples April 23, 1925 - November 2, 2013 Business Education Tenure 1957-1961 |
| Emogene (Hudspeth) Maples was born 23 Apr 1925 in Ashland, Mississippi, daughter of Robert and Emma Hudspeth. She attended Mississippi State College for Women at Columbus, graduating in 1946 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secretarial Science. She married after graduation to Alvin Clark Maples, and they taught school in Mississippi prior to coming to Hughes. She joined the Hughes faculty as a Business Education teacher beginning in the ’57-’58 school year. Mrs. Maples and her husband left Hughes after the ’60-’61 school year and took up residence in Millington, Shelby County, Tennessee. She died 02 Nov 2013, interment in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery, Millington. |
