| Miss Huffman was born August 16, 1905 in Clark County, Arkansas, daughter of Thomas Drew Huffman and Almeda (Trout) Huffman. She began her teaching career during the late 1920’s in the public schools of Clark County. Miss Huffman received the M.S. Degree from the University of Arkansas, and prior to coming to Hughes, she served as principal in the Lepanto, Arkansas, Elementary School, where she was honored with a lifetime membership in the Lepanto PTA for her outstanding contribution to education. Miss Huffman began serving as elementary principal for the Hughes Elementary School in 1968. After retirement, she moved to Malvern, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, to be near family. She died there on March 10, 1988, burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Miss Huffman was a life long member of the Baptist Church. |
