In the fall of 1953 the Imps almost had the first undefeated season in the school's history, but
in the final game of the season they lost to West Memphis by a score of 6-7.
New teachers added to the faculty in 1952-54 were:

Miss Edna Lou Brodnax, 6th Grade
Miss Jo Elizabeth Littell, 3rd Grade
Miss Helen Turner, 2nd Grade
Mrs. Henry Couchman, 3rd Grade
Miss Wanda Witherspoon, 5th Grade
