Prior to the 1935-36 school year all basketball games had been played on two cinder courts,
one for girls on the side of the High School building, and one for boys on the other side.
1935 marks the year the second building on the Hughes Campus was built. The Gym (Old
Gym) was completed in time for the 1935 basketball season and was dedicated that same year.
